Michael Reeves is Executive Director for Marketing & Investor Relations at Vermillion Asset Management LLC in New York City. Vermillion is a broad-based commodities investment management firm investing both fundamentally and quantitatively across the spectrum of commodities interests, including physical commodities, exchange-listed futures and options and global commodity-related equities. Vermillion actively pursues opportunities in agricultural commodities, soft commodities, base metals, precious metals and energy.

Prior to joining Vermillion, Michael was Managing Director at Lapides Asset Management in Greenwich, CT and led that firm's marketing and client service area. Before joining Lapides, Michael was formerly Senior Managing Director at Third Avenue Management in New York City, where his responsibilities included planning, managing and executing the institutional sales, marketing and client services effort for the firm as well as direct responsibility for a variety of institutional, family office and advisory relationships. Michael started his career in investment management at Memphis, TN-based NewSouth Capital Management, an institutional money management firm where he served as Vice President and co-led the marketing and client service effort for nine years. Prior to business school, Michael worked for five years in higher education institutional advancement.

Michael holds a BA from the University of the South (Sewanee) and earned his MBA from the Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Michael serves on the board of the Association of Investment Management Sales Executives (AIMSE). He is also a member of the CFA Institute and the Stamford CFA Society.
