Message from the AIMSE President

Welcome to AIMSE and its community of friendly competitors. AIMSE’s mission can be summarized in three words: Mentorship, Access and Education. In order to be successful in this career, in this industry, you will need all three. Those of us who volunteer our time with AIMSE are motivated by giving back to an industry that has been very good to us. I urge you to take advantage of the benefits of AIMSE membership, so the industry can be very good to you as well.

I would like to welcome you to the AIMSE website. You will find testimonials by senior institutional investment professionals that answer the question: Why AIMSE? These folks represent a small sample of members whose careers have benefitted from the Mentorship, Access and Education that AIMSE has provided for nearly 35 years.

On this website, you will find information on our upcoming events including multiple national conferences, regional events and our Canadian Conference. As a member, you can access our newsletter, our membership directory, presentation materials and final programs of previous conferences as well as complete electronic registrations for regional event and conferences.

The progress of AIMSE rests on broad shoulders. I would like to thank my predecessor, Niels Andersen, CFA, whose patient and steady hand made an outstanding year run smoothly. I urge you to take a look at the profiles of our Lothrop Award winners, these stellar role models prove over and over that integrity, humility, humor and hard work result in the slow dollar as opposed to the fast nickel. They inspire us to continue the work of giving back. I have to smile when I think of the many energetic, empathetic and supportive members who are the backbone of this organization. They make it fun and productive, as we lean on each other’s shoulders on this journey through the rapidly changing terrain of asset management sales.
